BMW's new 6 Series Gran Coupe is one sexy machine

BMW has drawn the curtains off it's brand new model, the 6 Series Gran Coupe. As someone mentioned, "This is how BMWs should look like", and i agree. It is just stunning.

BMW F20 1 Series parties into Singapore

Local BMW dealership Performance Motors held the local launch of the F20 1 Series by throwing an awesome party where good food and drinks flowed freely into the night. Surrounded by (i kid you not) a throng of beautiful looking people, the new 1 Series was unveiled.

Unfortunately, with the lighting conditions setup to twirl and swirl with the music, getting a good shot of the new F20 was not going to be easy. To help you imagine how it will look, i'd say the front end might take some getting used to, the mid to rear we can easily aquaint ourselves with and the interior is an improvment over the old model by leaps and bounds.

Quality, fit and finish on the inside gives it a feel well deserving of the roundel badge.

I would post pictures of all the lovely ladies present (alot alot alot), but my camera exploded out of ecstasy.

FT86 Revisited

With the production FT86 about to be unveiled in a couple of months time at the Tokyo Auto Show, little details of this much anticipated FR machine have started trickling out. Even early press reviews have started appearing onto the interwebs.

Just how good is it? Well, here's a quote from Dorikin himself, Keiichi Tsuchiya,
"The car (FT86) is not only FUN to drive, but in terms of quality and precision of handling, the car has very much surpassed any expectations I had. More easily put, if you had blind folded me and told me this was a new creation by BMW's M department, I would not even hesitate to believe you. It's that good."

For more press reviews, here are the links:
Car Magazine's FT86 Review
Autocar's FT86 Review

I'm sure as we get closer to the date of unveiling, more and more reviews will appear. So keep a close watch on this one. Latest brouchure shots via FT86club.com.

Performance Motors launches the F13 6 Series Coupe in Singapore

Local BMW dealership Performance Motors just launched BMW's new big coupe on our local shores.

The new shark-faced coupe sat under the covers in The Capella's ballroom.

With some lovely help, those sheets were pulled back and a short introduction by PML's boss man followed, we were all invited to take a look at the car for ourselves shortly after.

The new F13 6er will come in initially come in 650i and 640i guises. With the nicely sized TwinPower Turbo'd 4.4 powering the 650i and BMW's famously boosted 3-litre straight-6 going into the 640i.

Price start at "Jaw-dropping" and top out at "If you have to ask"

The New 3 amongst us

The latest BMW 3 Series, the F30, has now landed with a longer, larger and lighter package. Behind those angry new lights lies 2 new turbo-charged engines. A 4-cylinder 2-litre (strangely named 328i) pushing out 245 horses with a peak torque figure of 258 lb-ft from 1,250 rpm (That'll be 350Nm), propelling it from 0-62 mph in 5.9 seconds. Pretty punchy for a 4 banger.

The range topping 335i receives BMW's much revered 3-litre straight six with a twin-scroll turbocharger strapped on. Giving 305 horses and 295 lb-ft (400Nm) of torque at 1,200 rpm. 0-62 mph in the 335i arrives in 5.5 seconds (335i).

Although i frown at giving a 4-banger 2-litre (turbocharged or not!) a 328i badge, i guess this is the direction cars are headed for. Emissions and enviromentalist be damned...

BMW M5 Concept in Singapore

BMW has shipped over their coveted M5 Concept over to Munich Auto in Singapore for a showcase over the weekend. And this evening, select members of the press were privy for an early preview of what is essentially the soon-to-be-released F10 M5. Although many have already seen photos of the car during it's unveiling at the Shanghai auto show, this is the first public showing of BMW Motorsports latest crowning achievement.
As expected, the car was under wraps but they soon peeled off the covers to reveal the M5 Concept wearing big black wheels and sporting some mean gangsta tints. Neither of which i think will come stock standard on the production car.

Lovely side profile

Some notable ///M Details. Side vents, big wheels, big brakes and big intakes.

The M5 Concept also sported a nice perky rear end too, with sweet-ass quad pipes peeping out the rear.

I figured since i at the M-car showroom, i shuffled around to take pictures of other niceties sitting around. An M3 GTS at the back, with 2 already delivered and prowling down Orchard Road soon.

Finishing off, a 1-M Coupe and an M3 sitting in their clean as tits workshop.

The M5 Concept will be on display for public viewing at the Munich Automobiles showroom located at 30 Teban Gardens Crescent, from May 21 to 22. This coincides with the first-ever Munich Automobiles BMW Service Centre Open House over the same weekend.

The first 500 BMW owners will receive a 25% discount voucher applicable for service and maintenance packages exclusively at Munich Automobiles. The BMW Service Centre Open House at Munich Automobiles has something for everyone in the family, including racing-simulators, remote-controlled car racing competitions, photo-booths and a crash-course in BMW automobile servicing. All visitors will also have the opportunity to win the latest iPad2.

Oh yes, i almost forgot to add in, i chatted with some of them German folk, the official word on the new F10 M5 is that there will be no touring version because sales of the previous one were sadly, not too great.

And on the topic of a lighter 1M... ala CSL, they said. "Probably... maybe"
Here's hoping.

BMW Vision Connected Drive

Challenging looks aside, i reckon parts of the styling like the dramatic cut line running through the side intakes and the rear light clusters will make it onto the new BMW Z'roadsters. Hit the forums for more »

Munich Automobiles showcases the 1 Series ///M-Coupé

Munich Auto held the unveiling of the 1 ///M-Coupe on our local shores and i had the priviledge to sneak a peak. It looks really great in the flesh, very muscular, very stout and squat with great STANCE! Many have asked bout this, the price. SGD$220,000 without COE. Pre-orders for one of only 20 vehicles to be available in Singapore at an exclusive preview on 22-23-24 January 2011.

The 1 M will be at Munich Auto for this weekend, so be sure to head down to have a look. Time to go RS3 stomping! Here's the Press Release »

Even under covers, the extended wheelarches give it a menacing presence.

It's abit strange to see a plaque with the words "Powered by BMW M" in place of the traditional badges though.

1 ///M will only come with a stick shift! The 'preferred' shift some might say.

Made new friends. :)
