Local BMW dealership Performance Motors has just launched the BMW X1. Held in the funky and sporty Wavehouse Sentosa, the X1 sat in good company amongst the young and young-at-heart crowd. (The great food and drinks helped too) The smallest member of the X family will have a lot to live up to, but so far, the response looks pretty good.

Retrospective: The Mighty 750Li

Photobucket
A personal favorite of mine and ranking right up there on the desirability list. This powerhouse of a limousine punches all the right buttons. 600Nm of Power coupled coupled with loads of handling tech means this car pulls like a train and handles incredibly well for its size whilst the front seats give your bum a massage. The list of gadgets piled into this flagship (This was before the 760Li came out), reads like a science textbook.

It's on a whole new level when put next to the previous generation 7. It can do all the normal cushion-y limousine-y stuff, but more importantly, it's a barrel of laughs when you put your foot down. The best 7 series yet but the price reflects it.
(It's soooo good, i'm letting it have a larger-then-normal picture)

Retrospective: Driving the big bad' BMW X6

Photobucket
Once in a while you come across cars which you have had really high expectations of, but upon driving them, realize that things aren't always what they seem to be.

That was in a way, what happened when i took the X6 out for a drive. I was really excited about the car, contrary to many others, i quite liked the X6. I likened it to a big hulking beast of a car, something like the Warthog in the Halo games. If presense is what you are looking for in a car, there's a few bags load of it here.

I'll be honest and admit that the X6 drives amazingly well for a car this size. No car so big should even be allowed to hustle the way this does. It takes to corners like a sports car (a really big one), and the amount of thrust from the Twin Turbos is enough to see off most cars on the roads. (IF they haven't scuttled out of your way.)
